and then i went to greece
so folks it's been a while but here i am with photos from greece for you! the ferry arrived at patras where i met two nice people a boy who's name i can't remember anymore and a girl named heytin. we all took the train together switching in korinth and then finally arriving in athens late... around 5 or 6pm after travelling all day! a warning: the trains in greece are terrible. and they smell. the hostel however was fairly inexpensive and fairly nice and there were a million cheap supermarkets around selling 59 centeem chocalate bars that were HUGE it was heaven!
i forgot ... here is the sunrise

despite losing my alarm clock i woke up on time to catch it.
and here is the ferry... it's so gigantic i couldn't get it all in the photo!

we went to dinner in i can't remember but it was a really nice part of athens... with a lot of k's in the name i think and the acropolis was very near by
here is guy and heytin at dinner

i also found and fell in love with a little cat who i tried to give feta from my greek salad too but she ran away..??? aww she was cute and little.
after dinner we wandered and got completely lost!
here is the ACROPOLIS! i took this while we were lost. moments later we found an orange tree on the lawn of a church an stole oranges! so evil i know!

eventually we ended up at home again and i think i probably passed out immediately. the next day heytin headed for santorini.
and the next day i did a million lovely thing! first i went to the national gardens which were heavenly

check out this magnormous wysteria!

orange trees!!!!

then there was this zoo with an insane or ready to mate ostrich not sure which

somewhere near here i got attacked by a greek boy... it was strange and not cute!

this is an important square. i'm sorry i can't remember what it is though.

and the very emaculate subway system

this is at the flea market which was my favourite place. beautiful scarf for 6 euros, fraphe my favourite greek specialty, weird postcards for my friends ahh it was great!

this is on a wall by my hostel. and i thought aw that's so true... so i took a photo of it. i was really loving life in greece!

later i went to akto which is the greek version of ocad. very cool stuff!

ahh marilyn!

mmm bakery

the next day i fed a stray cat who was lovely

and went to the acropolis whihc was really cool totally worth while and i got to see it for free because i am an EU student right now HOORAY!!!
here are loads of photos of it... and none of the stuff i can remember now

here is an important temple of goddesses i studied in first year... god that was a long time ago!

there is the museum and it was built and paid for by an american (those lovely americans!)

this is down by the museum outsdie of this was an olive tree. so cool!

TOURTOISE!

OLD STUFF!!!

anyway then i went to santorini!
so i think we know the story behind what happened at the hostel... but if you want a refresher let me know! IT'S A CRAZY STORY IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD IT!
anyway in the morning my friends in the hostel room and i went to the black beach for coffee

here's a map of santorini... we are in perissa

here is perissa... basically one street!

then we went to the very tip of the island where the lighthouse is
this is a bubble from a vocanic eruption

here are some photos of islands and the island and water

next we went to the red beach. it was super wavy though so i didn't go down to it

this is at the red beach too (even though it's black!) can you spot the tire!!!

ooo contrast!

now we are in a town... whose name has left me but look at the map. it's not perissa or oia it's something else! anyway shopping

here is the volcano and ana's nose!

here are my friends: left to right: jenny alicia and ana. here we are enjoying souvlaki!

now we are in oia our last stop of the day

hi friends!

the quintessential photo in santorini

then we went back to the hostel and promptly got drunk on really bad greek wine and ouzo.. bad combo! me and jenny had some sort of joke with a croissant.. it ended up on the roof across the street.. and in the morning we saw it again!

then i promptly named and fed this dog

she chased away this one that went for a swim

croissant bum!!!

get off this is my spot!!!

jenny showing off how she had two fraphe's and i got none!
