AMAEVEING PARTY FUN!!!

hello i know you are all really sad you couldn't make it to the amaeveing party. well your loss.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
anyway you get to be there vicariously through these very random photos.
first of all here is a very mod photo of purple aka ME!


and my very amaeveing jean skirt i made for the party

here is mom and maeve and doggy (aka chester) with the banner i made. mom helped too. it tooooooooooook all afternoon!


thea convinced me to make custard creams for the party. very british. they unfortunately died :( but here is mom helping make the custard. i lie she made it


and the custard cream tarts in the making... mmmmmmmmmmmmm


LOADS AND LOADS of people came to the party. of course you can't tell becuase they refused to be photographed. ha ha!

later we went inside and i convinced rhona and maaike we should a) make a thank you thea video b) make a thank you thea sign and c) make ourselves tatooed! we did all those things!

first was the sign. at some point we decided that we needed 'moo nartini's'... yes i kid you not!
here is us with the sign... this took some manipulating as you will notice!






i'm not sure how we managed to all get all the bits in the photo the last time but HOORAY WE DID IT!!!
also in our nartini's we didn't have just any olives...


me and maaike contracted angelina lips and huge moustaches and eyebrows as well!

birthday fun hurah hurah!

hello so yesterday being 23 june was my 23rd birthday! OMGAWD IT IS SO COSMIC! anyway i thought since i still am sort of 'away' and not able to see most of my friends (sad face) i would post my photos up FOR EVERYONE of the exciting life of maeve in grim grimsby! yes it's that exciting wait you'll see!
firstly this funny photo i took as competition with thea:

oh anyway... on with the birthday. at 6am my mom came in with a lovely bouquet of pinks and a card! i got up at 6am because we were GOING CANOEING!!! the first big adventure of the day. this year we decided to branch out away from the ghetto wagon that we were using to haul the canoe down to the lake and be modern and put it on the car. this went well.

here is the 'safety cone' - all the safety equipement you need in a boat in a conveniently shaped cone... why it's a cone ... perhaps for funs sake!


i forgot to mention our canoe's name is alice... because we need to name everything. this is her old home in the garden. she now has a new home because she was getting covered in dead lilac blossoms


getting the canoe onto the car was actually easier than you would think or than i thought anyway. it's so heavy i never thought i'd get it anywhere near the height of the roof of the car but we did it!


that is proof! this first time was a piece of cake! mmm cake :)

anyway everything was fine the lake was a little choppy and at the end i was trying to steer against the current so much i thought my arms would break off!

well it's officially not 'their's' anymore but it will always be their's in my memory

my mom always looks like a turtle or something when she is canoeing! it's so funny!


anyway by the time we got back we were pretty tired and getting the canoe back on the car was rather difficult. we managed to eventually but before we got it on we had it almost on the roof and then the whole thing rolled and hit the side mirror on the driver's side!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH but guess what? THE MIRROR BOUNCED!!! that is so crazy! i couldn't believe it! and fortuneately no one was around to see us struggling. but we are modern women we can lift a canoe up and put it on a car and then drive it around!

when we got home we made pancakes! YAY PANCAKES!! my favourite thing
we have magic baking powder too!

we also have a new dove named dora. we had named her miss dovey but mom liked dora. she only has one foot :( and i thought she was a backwards dove so we are treating her with love and compassion.

then mom and i went into town where we went to the bank (ooo exciting!), shoppers and saw our old tennat and one of my shopper's ladies friends, food basics where i saw one of my old co-workers who i just love named jen, then the jewlerry store where i dropped off every piece of jewlerry i managed to break while in leeds, then marlene smith's where mom bought me these earrings

and i saw phoebe my lovely friend and my doctor's daughter (how strange yes lovely smalltownness!) then to cocoon where i used to work to say hello! fortunately carolyn was not there and steph was who i love (i love steph!) then we went to the benevolent fund (a charity shop that only grimsby has!) where everything was 50% OFF! we bought four games and some fabric for me
the games are baffles (no instructions) oxfurd bluff (i changed it's name!), 'fais-moi un dessin' which i have translated as 'make me a drawing' (it's in french for when i get back from quebec) and the worst case scenario. all for only $2.25!!!! WOW WHAT A BARGAIN!
then we went home

and what i changed oxfurd bluff's name too! haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! so creative!!


then i went to faith and roman's house where they put the fancy show on for me


the show consists of piano, singing, dancing, comedy, magic and a puppet show. they also made me a happy birthday banner


and a sign


and picked me some wild strawberries as a present!


the best part of the show is watching their feet behind the curtain!


then they came down to mine for cake and we took chester for a walk

then at home eating cake and playing hide and go seek eleni dropped in for a surprise visit which was absolutely AMAZING!!! and then after that tannis came by with a birthday card which was so lovely! and a huge package was sent to me by my aunt from florida full of


CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and not just chocolate amazing delicious unbelievable chocolate!

dont' worry we gave most of it away i swear!!!
so that's my exicitng life!
remember the amaeveing party is this sunday! i hope you can make it if not see you in august! and as for my lovely UK friends I'LL SEE YOU well i'm not sure when but SOON i promise. i will be back in the UK i love it.
