pelle and meanwood park
i have two lots of photos for you today! the first is from 25 Feb when Yancy and I were indulgent and had wine while watching Pelle the Conquerer - a free Danish/Swedish DVD i got with the paper one day that is actually amazing (i mean you wouldn't think free movies that come with the newspaper would be any good but...). the other lot is from yesterday 2 mar (can you believe that it's march damn!!!) when we went for a walk into a part of leeds we didn't yet know existed. well that's partially a lie. yancy knew it existed but i didn't! and you didn't! and now we all know it does so hooray!!! anyway pictures...

yancy sleeping...

maeve and yancy sleeping
we had a popcorn fight and this is post-popcorn fight!

and me and yancy... i love the computer screen that is reflected in her glasses!

i had also made this cool david hockney-esque collagey thing of yancy's room which i can't upload so you'll have to wait to see that. or if you reeeeeeeeeeeeally want to see it leave a comment and i'll email it to you! (p.s. i enabled anonymous comments for anyone dying to leave comments!!!)
now walking!!! we went walking for an hour. yancy got home from school at 2.30 or something really early and i was reading or whatevering in my room so we had tea and then left.
oh i forgot ... we also rented the other day 'breathless' or 'le bout de soufle' by jean-luc godard! IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! totally amazing. everyone go find and watch it! and if you're not into french then they made a american version with *ugh* richard gere. i can't say it looked like it would be as good but i havne't seen it so my opinion is biased at the moment! anyway GO WATCH!

we started our walk here.. aww how very quaint

passed these really cute houses

yancy climbed the fence to take her shot

can you find the birdhouse?

a lovely winter/spring whatever season this is garden

amazingly dramatic sky with telephone wires. it reminded us of a photograph by tina modotti

yancy ala amelie on the bride skipping stones

when we thought we had found the park that we were looking for we found this frozen pond

upon passing this...

we were getting closer!!! (what kind of street name is that anyway?)
next was the mud. way way way too much mud and this poor duck

we had a harrowing journey around the mud puddle.

dun dun duuuuuuuuuun

and hooray we made it to meanwood park!

how british!! a milk truck!!!

yancy's unbelievably muddy vans

just imagine kate bush singing 'running up that road, you're running up that hill to make a deal with God iyea yea ooooooooo'

aww peaceful babbling creek

upon leaving we were informed that in this park there was access only to hustlers! good thing they didn't know we weren't!

we were just leaving when yancy said 'damn maeve you are gonna die when you see this!' and then i found this garden

can you believe that???? it's totally covered in crocuses and snowdrops!!!
now spot yancy!!!

aww quaint little british street

waiting interminably long to cross this road to go home

we saw this garden shop

and look what they sell!

captivating....
we went to somerfeilds and blockbuster after and saw this amazing car. yancy apparently owns it!

you can get minced brains err i mean pork 2 for just £2.50 wow what a deal!

checking out the salad island

mmm pasta that has been sitting out all day!

and the liquor isle... one of

it donned on me then they have got a lot of liquor in that store... and i know exactly where the £1.99 bottle of german table wine is... sign that might be considered sad!

i always think that this sherry might be good becuase the drawings look pretty but judging by that layer of dust it's probably not so great...!

anyway i gotta go now and get a refund from the riding club becuase they suck.
terrah!

try sherry and tell me how it is. i'm totally scared of it. i think it sounds like something really really sweet (ie sherry, aaaaaw) but it sounds ultra bitter!!! (ie cooking sherry) and kind of dodgy... eep.
